Cary Police Take Man Into Custody After Standoff

A man was taken into custody after a standoff Sunday morning in Cary.

CARY, N.C. — A man was taken into custody after a standoff Sunday morning in Cary.

Just after 11 a.m., police were called to 110 Northwoods Village Dr. A man inside an apartment was firing a rifle, police said. It took about 20 minutes for police to get the man to surrender.

The man's name has not been released. He was taken to Western WakeMed for an evaluation.

No one was injured and police are still investigating the incident.
