CARY, N.C. — A Cary man faces a dozen sexual exploitation charges after police say he distributed sexually explicit photos of young children he found online.

Andrew Whitmore Campbell, 35, of 202 Hyde Park, Apt. J, was arrested Monday and jailed under a $900,000 bond on 12 counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor, according to arrest warrants. The crimes are alleged to have occurred between Feb. 19 and April 2.

The documents do not say what led to his arrest but cite 12 photos of boys and girls who appear to be between the ages of 6 and 16 in "lewd and lascivious and sexually suggestive" poses.

Some of the photos also include men and women involved in sexual acts with the children.

Cary police investigators said Tuesday that they don't believe the children in the photos are local.
