Cary bank robber sought
Police were searching Monday for the man who robbed the SunTrust Bank inside the Harris Teeter grocery store at 2741 N.C. Highway 55 last week.
Posted — UpdatedA man approached a teller at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, displayed what turned out to be a plastic toy handgun and demanded money, police said. He fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
The robber is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches to 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, a blue knit hat, jeans and possibly a light blue shirt.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Lt. Steve Fonke of the Cary Police Department at 919-462-2002 or Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIM(E). Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest.
