HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — A Burlington man was sentenced Tuesday to 138 to 179 years in prison after he was convicted of raping two Carrboro women, authorities said.

A jury deliberated less than two hours before finding Frank Cruz, 36, guilty of rape, kidnapping, burglary and related charges in three attacks on two women. The sentence is the longest ever handed down in Orange County, District Attorney Jim Woodall said.

Cruz was arrested in October 2010 when DNA evidence implicated him in a rapes that occurred in November 2005 and January and March 2006.
