The Carolina Ballet's family series this season includes three princess ballets - Cinderella in November, The Little Mermaid in March  and Beauty and the Beast in May. The Little Mermaid opens March 15.

Carolina Ballet recently added a special 11 a.m., March 24, matinee that will feature just The Little Mermaid ballet. The shorter concert is perfect for younger children, who will be mesmerized by the costumes and familiar story, but might have more difficulty sitting still through the rest of the program, which includes more traditional ballet.

This is the world premiere for this version of The Little Mermaid. It is created by two-time Tony nominee and resident guest choreographer Lynne Taylor-Corbett.

There is a reduced ticket price for the show. Tickets are $20 to $55 for the 11 a.m., March 24, performance. They are $25 to $65 for all other performances. The Little Mermaid runs through April 1. Click here for tickets.
