Car crashes into 100-year-old Selma home; driver charged

A 24-year-old was charged with DWI and reckless driving early Saturday after crashing his car into a 100-year-home in Johnston County.

SELMA, N.C. — A 24-year-old was charged with DWI and reckless driving early Saturday after crashing his car into a 100-year-home in Johnston County.

According to Selma police, Jamarrian Davis lost control of his car at about 11:30 p.m. while traveling on North Forest Street in Selma.

Four people were inside the home at the time of the crash. They were unhurt. Davis' vehicle caught fire after the crash, but the flames were quickly extinguished, police said.

The foundation of the house was slightly damaged.

Davis was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
