CLAYTON, N.C. — A Clayton man is accused of committing at least two break-ins in Wake County while on probation for similar crimes.

Danny Lamont Avery, 34, of 435 Big Pine Road, was arrested Friday by Raleigh police on eight probation violations, two counts each of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering, and one count each of felony cocaine possession, assault on a law enforcement officer causing serious injury, assault on a government official, resisting a government official and resisting a public official.

In one case, according to an arrest warrant, he broke into the Star Mart Exxon convenience store on Cleveland Road in Garner and stole $800 worth of cigarettes and $84 in cash.

He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $226,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Avery is on probation for February 2011 convictions for felony breaking and entering and larceny over $1,000, according to state Division of Adult Correction records.

In addition, he has 20 other convictions, mostly for break-ins and larceny, since 2001, records show. He has served five jail terms, totaling a little more than two years.
