Cabin fever? Take your preschoolers to art museum's 'What's in the Box'

Some days, as I write about or come across all of these activities and events for kids, I get a little nostalgic because my kids are now too old for them.

The What's in the Box series at the N.C. Museum of Art would be one of those that gets the waterworks almost going. This wonderful regular series at the museum in west Raleigh is designed for the preschool and under crowd. They are offered at 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., Thursday, this week. Next month, they are Feb. 4 and Feb. 18.
The programs introduce works of art in the museum and include activities. They run about 45 minutes each. My younger one loved it when we went to these years ago. The museum's calendar lists these and other family events coming up.
