RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh Lions Clinic for the Blind opened a call center and manufacturing facility in Raleigh this month which will be staffed by visually impaired employees.

The operation, at 3200 Bush St., produces and supports office supplies, janitorial equipment, uniforms and hospital supplies which are used by the federal government and U.S. military. The call center handles telemarketing, catalog requests and distribution of brochures for the same products.

"As the call center grows it will add good paying jobs for people who are blind and help preserve a high quality of life for our residents," said Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker.
