CLAYTON, N.C. — Caterpillar Inc. officials announced Wednesday that the company plans to cut 121 jobs at its Clayton facility in the next two months.

The company is in the midst of revamping its Building Construction Products Division, which includes the Clayton facility, spokesman Jim Dugan said.

Eventually the company hopes to increase the number of wheel-loader models produced at the Clayton plant. A major construction project inside the plant is also planned this year.

The company also hopes to shift some production now in England to the Clayton facility.
