RALEIGH, N.C. — RBC Bank has named former Wachovia executive Reginald Davis as its new president.

As RBC president, Davis will oversee retail banking, commercial markets, specialized businesses, private banking and residential mortgages.

“Reggie’s experience and market familiarity make him an excellent leader for our client-facing employees in executing our strategy to provide the best possible service to our clients,” Scott Custer, RBC chief executive, said in a statement. “We are very pleased he is joining our team, and I look forward to working closely with him.”

Davis had worked at Wachovia since 1985, after he graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta. Among his roles there, he served as executive vice president and Eastern Banking Group executive, where he led retail and wholesale activities in 20 East Coast states.

“I was attracted to RBC Bank because of the organization’s strong commitment to its clients, employees and communities,” Davis said. “I am very excited to join the bank and to have the opportunity to contribute to the financial strength of the global RBC corporate family.”
