Triangle Home Sales Slip in April Compared to March But Top ’06 Figures
House values for new, existing homes show 2 percent increase.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — New and existing home sales in the Triangle dipped 3 percent in April from March, but the number of homes was still higher than those sold in April a year ago.
Housing values also were up, but by a slender 2 percent, from 2006 figures, according to the latest statistics from the North Carolina Association of REALTORS.
Statewide, sales were down 3 percent from 2006 and 3 percent from March, the REALTORS group reported.
Sales figures in the Triangle include both new and existing homes. All other markets report only existing home sales.
Across the Triangle in April, 2,982 homes with an average value of $231,549 were sold. A year ago, 2,818 homes changed hands with an average value of $226,248.
In March of this year, 3,059 homes were sold.
Statewide, 11,256 homes were sold at an average price of $219,162.
Values were up 4 percent over April of 2006.
Rocky Mount, Jacksonville, Fayetteville, Goldsboro and Greenville were among the handful of markets reporting an increase in sales over 2006, the REALTORS said.
