New, Existing Home Sales Increase in Triangle
Statewide, however, existing home sales drop in March.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Sales of new and existing homes in the Triangle region increased in March by 2 percent over the year before and 37 percent from February, according to the North Carolina Association of Realtors.
Statewide, sales of existing homes declined 7 percent from March 2006. In the Triangle, the Realtors statistics reflect new and existing home sales.
The number of units sold increased to 3,059 from 3,011 a year ago.
Values jumped even more, rising to an average price of $233,763, a 6 percent surge.
In February, 2,227 units were sold
Across North Carolina, existing home sales in March dipped to 11,475 from 2006. Prices still climbed, however, to $218,449 from $206,177.
Year to date, Triangle sales are up 9 percent.
