RALEIGH, N.C. — Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution, which is based in Raleigh, has acquired an Arkansas firm that specializes in disconnect switches.

Bridges Electric, Inc. is located in Heber Springs, Ark. It employs 55 people, all of whom will be retained by Siemens, a company spokesperson told WRAL.com.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Siemens power unit employs 379 people at a production facility in Wendell and more than 1,200 overall.

The Arkansas operation will be integrated into a Siemens unit based in Tennessee but will maintain its Heber Springs operation, the spokesperson added. The company has been in business since 1962.

"Bridges has established an excellent reputation in the disconnect switch business,” said Dave Pacyna, chief executive officer of the Siemens power unit. “Their product portfolio and team commitment to quality will be valuable enhancements to SPT&D.”
