STAR, N.C. — A company that provides logistics services to the plastics industry will open a warehouse and transfer facility in Montgomery County, officials said Thursday.

Frontier Logistics plans to create 71 jobs and invest $5.15 million during the next five years in Star. The average annual wage for the new jobs will be $47,577, plus benefits, which is higher than Montgomery County's average of $28,028.

Texas-based Frontier Logistics provides supply chain management services, with a special focus on the plastics industry, and it wants to expand its services to southeastern markets.

The company qualified for a $128,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund, which provides financial assistance to attract business projects to the state. Companies receive no money upfront and must meet job and investment targets to obtain the grant funds.
