Cape Fear Valley buys Bladen hospital
Cape Fear Valley Health System on Monday finalized its purchase of Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cape Fear Valley Health System on Monday finalized its purchase of Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.
The deal was first announced in 2008, when Cape Fear Valley entered into a multi-year affiliation with Bladen County Hospital that allowed the health system the option of purchasing the hospital within five years.
Since then, Cape Fear Valley has invested $19 million in the Elizabethtown facility, including new digital mammography equipment, renovations to the labor and delivery area and a new hospital roof. The Fayetteville-based hospital system also recruited new doctors to Bladen County.
