This year didn't go exactly as the owners of Bull City Craft planned. Back in June, the business moved out of its Durham home and successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign as it embarked on efforts to find a new one.

It found a partial space. In September, owners Jessica Greene and Franklin Santana opened a tiny shop at Golden Belt in downtown Durham. Now, they are making big strides toward opening in a much bigger space at the Homestead Market Shopping Center at 105 W NC 54 in Durham. That space will be home, once again, to Bull City Craft's popular family programs, camps and birthday parties.

Greene tells me that they hope to open there in January. They also are making the most of their current small space. The store is hosting an ornament party at its Bull City Craft Annex at Golden Belt. It's from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 21, at the annex at 807 E. Main St., Building 3, Durham. Shoppers can drop in and make an ornament. The cost is $5 for three. (Sounds like the potential for some great homemade gifts!).

Greene will share some Christmas crafts on Go Ask Mom next week. I'm looking forward to checking out the new store in the new year!
