RALEIGH, N.C. — You're not seeing double -- or triple. These are the Osborne Brothers, a set of rare identical triplets who are interning at the State Legislature this summer.

WRAL's Luke Notestine talked with them about their unique experience -- and perspective on life.

For the Osborne Triplets, doing everything together comes naturally. In fact, doing anything different from the others just doesn't happen to these remarkable brothers.

“Nothing about this is normal. But to us, this is our normal," says Nicholas Osborne.

Nicholas, Zachary, and Benjamin Osborne grew up in Rocky Mount -- and at 27, they still look at life through each other's eyes.

"Being normal is overrated.  Since we were little, our Mother has instilled in us the Golden Rule.  Treat others like you want to be treated," says Zachary.

The triplets attended UNC Charlotte together, and now all study at Georgetown Law School.

"We have a passion for public service and Government. Our main goal in life is to help people. That’s all we want to do is to know what we’re doing at that time is helping people," says Zachary.

This summer, they are interning with Senator Jim Burgin, an experience that has opened their eyes to the inner workings of the State Legislature.

"Senator Burgin is the most friendly person we have ever met. He doesn’t shake your hand, he gives you a hug.  We enjoy his ideas," says Nicholas.

Next week, the brothers head to England, to study abroad at the University of Oxford -- at the same location where many of the Harry Potter movies were shot.

“Since we were children, the two schools we wanted to go to are Georgetown and Oxford," says Zachary. "Our Hogwarts letters are coming in late, but we finally got them!”

Big dreams coming true for these brothers, who get asked the same question every day.

“We could go to the grocery store and probably one or two people will stop and say, are you two triplets or twins. And it’s a nearly daily occurrence," says Benjamin.

Doing everything together has opened doors for the Osborne triplets -- and they're okay with that.

“When we’re walking down the street, people stop, get out of their cars and get pictures with us.  It makes us feel like celebrities and makes us feel special," says Nicholas.

In their family tree, they aren't even the only set of identical triplets.

“It’s interesting that triplets actually run in our family. Our Great Grandfather was also an identical triplet," says Nicholas.

For Nicholas, Zachary and Benjamin Osborne, life is exactly how it should be -- with them working together to make this world a better place.
