Stephanie Sosa, a teacher in Florida for the past decade, recently moved to Cary with her husband and three young children. Sosa stayed home with her kids for a year before looking for something she could do from home. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.
"I saw the movement toward more STEM related educational programs and thought Bricks 4 Kidz would be perfect for me because it is still in my field of education, but I can reach more students," Sosa said.
Sosa will be offering after school programs, in-school field trips, birthday parties, preschool programs, summer and track out camps, kids nights out, moving making and robotics camps. All of the programs will be offered in English and Spanish.
She'll also be offering programs for local companies looking for an alternative to the usual team-building activities.
Sosa started in March and has held an event at Prestonwood Country Club and a local preschool.
She's hosting a launch party at YOLO Dessert Cafe, 10110 Green Level Church Rd., in Cary at 4 p.m., July 20. The afternoon will include Lego activities, frozen yogurt and a raffle for a chance to win a free birthday party.
She's also adding a monthly kids night out starting July 25; a one-week mini camp from Aug. 9 to Aug. 12; and track-out camps in September. And she's looking forward to participating in the Cary Scavenger Hunt on Sept. 13.
