Lonerider's Brew it Forward, scheduled March 24 in Raleigh, will feature music, specialty kegs and educational beer seminars. It is also a place for homebrewers to battle it out for the event's equivalent of a "best in show" prize.

But time is running out to enter your homemade brew for the "most drinkable" award. The deadline is Saturday at 11 p.m. to enter the competition. The competition is open to all amateur brewers.

It is $6 for each entry with a four entry limit for each brewer. All brewers who enter will get a free ticket to the festival.

Judging will take place at Tir na nOg during the festival.

Lonerider will sell the winning beer commercially. The winnings will be split among Lonerider (to cover brewing costs), the winning brewer and this year's selected nonprofit, Nourish International, which works to eradicate poverty.
