Boy Scouts get buzz cuts to fight childhood cancer

The boys in Troop 511, from Wake Forest, Rolesville, Youngsville and North Raleigh, shaved their heads Tuesday to raise money for St. Baldrick's Foundation, which supports childhood cancer research.

Raleigh-area Boy Scouts are buzzing their hair in the hope of saving lives.

The boys in Troop 511, from Wake Forest, Rolesville, Youngsville and North Raleigh, shaved their heads Tuesday to raise money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which supports childhood cancer research.

The troop raised $2,716 by getting friends and family to sponsor their buzz cuts. Hair stylists Audra Tucker and Debra Robertson volunteered to shave the boys’ heads.
