Sammy Sosa was 8 months old when cancer forced doctors to remove his right eye. He had outgrown his old prosthetic eye, but the cost of a new one was more than his single mother could afford.
The community pitched in, and raised enough money for Sammy to get his new eye and all the follow ups necessary for the next year.
