Baby+Company maternity center opens in Cary
I wrote about Baby+Company, a new boutique maternity center which opened in Cary in October.

The center offers expecting parents an alternative to hospital births. Here, women can receive any number of services, including pre-conception, prenatal and postpartum care. Moms can labor and deliver their babies at the center under the care of certified nurse midwives. The center also will offer newborn care services.

The Cary center, part of a new national chain of maternity centers, is a partnership with WakeMed Health & Hospitals and will be under the medical direction of Triangle Physicians for Women.

Since opening, the center has been working to develop a slate of classes and programs for new and expecting parents. They now include prenatal yoga, childbirth education, newborn care basics, breastfeeding support through La Leche League Breastfeeding Cafes and other programs. The classes are open to the community. The class calendar has details and registration information.

The center also has a small store with products for moms and baby such as nutritional supplements, breastfeeding products, natural newborn care products and other items. The store also offers nursing bra fittings and pregnancy and newborn photography, according to its website. If you're expecting a child and are hoping to use natural products or planning to breastfeed, it might be worth a look to see what is available.
