Booth Amphitheatre plans new holiday light show
The first ever North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival will kick off Nov. 28 at the Cary venue.

It will include more than 20 displays, each one comprised of hundreds of parts and thousands of LED lights, according to a press release. "These larger than life displays will wow visitors with their artistic beauty," it says.
Chinese artisans from a Sichuan-based company presenting the festival will perform during the weekends. Visitors will walk through the venue to enjoy the light displays. Concessions will be on sale. Strollers will be welcome.
It looks like Cary officials hope this will turn into a holiday tradition.
"Once people experience the gorgeous displays and cultural performances we think this will become an annual event that people will look forward to for many years to come," said Doug McRainey, Cary’s parks, recreation and cultural resources director, in the release.
The festival will run 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Kids 2 and under are free. Otherwise, tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for kids ages 3 to 17 and $50 for a four-pack.
