Bond increased for sex offender who went to schools

They said he went to Hillcrest Elementary School Nov. 2 with an acquaintance to have lunch with the friend's child. He was charged with being a sex offender on school grounds, and his bond was set at $125,000.
Further investigation showed Davis spent time at Williams High School and Sellars Gunn School on that same day. As a result, his bond was increased to $325,000.
The N.C. Sex Offender Registry shows that Davis was convicted in 2009 of soliciting for indecent liberties with a minor and failure to register as a sex offender and in 1999 of two counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor. He has been labeled a recidivist and must remain registered as a sex offender for life.
State Department of Correction records show that Davis has been nearly 20 convictions and has spent nearly 8½ years of the past 16 years behind bars. His convictions include accessory after the fact of first-degree murder, seling drugs, carrying a concealed weapon and assault on a female.
