Bomb scare reported at Durham schools administration building

Police responded around 9:15 a.m. to the building at 511 Cleveland St. and evacuated employees from the third floor. The floor was briefly locked down and searched.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police evacuated the Durham Public Schools administration building on Wednesday after a man made a statement about possibly having a bomb. 

Police responded around 9:15 a.m. to the building at 511 Cleveland St. and evacuated the third floor. The floor was briefly locked down and searched. 

No weapons or bombs were found, authorities said. No one was injured. 

The man, whose name was not released, was taken into custody but not charged. Police said his comments were taken out of context.
