<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — Fayetteville police are investigating a body found Monday afternoon near a local creek.

Details weren't immediately available, but the police department said someone found the body of a man around 2:30 p.m. near the bank of Cross Creek along the 200 block of Green Street.

It's unclear whether foul play is suspected. Investigators said more information would be released as it becomes available.
