DUDLEY, N.C. — Wayne County authorities said Tuesday that they believe they have found the body of a man missing for more than two months buried in the Dudley area.

Walter Lee Jordan, 59, was last seen on Jan. 16, and he was reported missing in late February, authorities said.

Deputies investigating his disappearance kept hearing that Jordan was the victim of foul play, and they discovered a shallow grave on Monday behind a home on Boykin Drive.

The remains found in the grave were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh for identification and an autopsy.

Authorities said they have suspects in the case.
