Teen's body discovered in Cary pond
The body of a 19-year-old was found in a pond near Brookhill Way and Yates Store Road in Cary Tuesday afternoon, town officials said.
Posted — UpdatedThe person was identified as Aliza Wanda Webb of 327 Northlands Drive.
"At this time, the cause of death is undetermined and there are no signs of foul play," Cary police said in a statement.
Jason Scott, who lives in the area, said he saw a bicycle near Webb's body.
"I saw a dead body laying half way in the water and we didn't know what happened," he said. "We just knew that someone was dead."
Webb was a student at Panther Creek High School, officials with the Wake County Public School System said.
No further information about her death was immediately available.
