RALEIGH, N.C. — Monday and the week ahead will be crisp and cool with plenty of sunshine and blue skies.

"We'll stay breezy as we start the week, on the cool side of normal," said WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss.

It won't be quite as cold Monday as it was on Sunday, but wind gusts reaching 20 mph at times will prompt you to reach for heavier coats as you head outdoors.

Highs will top out in the mid 50s Monday and rise only a bit as the week continues.

Thanksgiving forecast

Temperatures should start warming up on Tuesday before another front arrives late Wednesday, bringing with it a slight possibility of some light rain into Thursday morning.

Skies should be clear by late morning on Thanksgiving, though, and the day will be much warmer than the start of the week, with highs approaching 70 degrees.
