Biscuit tradition continues at State Fair without beloved friend

For years, Frances Lawrence made biscuits with her best friend, Monnie Jenks, in a tiny booth behind the Apex Lions Club building at the North Carolina State Fair. Last year, doctors diagnosed Frances with pancreatic cancer, and she was forced to miss the fair. Sadly, she died in June, and this year, Monnie carries on without her best friend.
