There is a very large yard sale at Binkley Baptist Church this Saturday and the proceeds go to help a number of charities in the area!
Here are the details from the folks working on the sale:
"It’s the giant biennial Binkley Church yard sale, and this year the Interfaith Council is a major beneficiary of that sale.
The yard sale is sponsored by Binkley in partnership with Barbee Chapel Church. This year, 45% of the net proceeds will be donated to the IFC’s Men’s Shelter Building Fund. The Barbee Chapel share of the profits will go to Central Children’s Home, and a smaller third share will go to Chapel Hill’s PTA Thrift Shop.
You have two opportunities to help with the fundraising. Monday through Friday of this week, you can bring take your extra “stuff,” to Binkley Church: furniture, kitchen wares, clean clothing in all sizes, collectibles including wall art and tableware, electronics, books, plants, office supplies, Christmas decorations, books, commercial recordings, etc. Receipts will be provided, for tax purposes. For more information, call the Yard Sale Hotline, (919) 830-5419.
Then on Saturday, August 18th, the big sale opens its doors from 8 AM to 1 PM, offering you thousands of items of quality goods for pennies on the dollar. It’s a recycling project in which everyone wins. You get rid of the stuff you don’t need; other folks buy your stuff because they need it. You find good stuff you do need, and big winner is the IFC. We hope you can help us make it a huge success.
Address:
-The "stores" occupy 18 areas of the Binkley Church building complex. They include sporting goods, children's clothes, collectibles, yard implements and miscellaneous tools, kitchen wares (pots and pans, table ware, dishes), appliances, baby clothing and equipment, electronics, potted plants, and "Women's Finer Things" including clothes for teens and college age women as well as adults.
-In the giant potpourri room there's luggage, framed pictures, clocks (alarm and otherwise), Christmas decorations, and at least 500 items of the type that you didn't realize you needed until you saw them."
