Food Network chef teams with Bida Manda for special dinner

Laotian restaurant Bida Manda hasn't even been open for a year, but owners Vanvisa and Vansana Nolintha are already making waves in the culinary world.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Laotian restaurant Bida Manda hasn't even been open for a year, but owners Vanvisa and Vansana Nolintha are already making waves in the culinary world.

Today they announced a special one-night only dinner with Food Network chef Maneet Chauhan on Sunday, April 21. According to the Nolinthas, they were approached about being featured in a segment that will appear on Chauhan's new reality show. After hearing all the buzz about Bida Manda, they were selected to be the partner restaurant in Raleigh.

The Out & About team has visited Bida Manda several times, and we know Chauhan will be impressed with the fresh, delicious and unique food. (Not to mention the cocktails!)

The event is reservation only and tickets are $95 per person. Chauhan will be designing the three-course meal, which includes a wine pairing. The ticket price also includes a signed copy of Chauhan's cookbook Flavors of My World: A Culinary Tour Through 25 Countries. Call the restaurant at (919) 829-9999 for reservations.

The event is part of Chauhan's 21-city national "Cutting Edge" tour, which will also include a student culinary challenge in each city.

Chauhan is a judge on the popular Food Network show "Chopped," and is currently in the process of opening her own restaurant in Nashville, Tenn., after working in various restaurants in Chicago and New York.
