Bicyclist hit by car in Harnett County
The state Highway Patrol said that a car struck a bicyclist along N.C. Highway 27, west of Coats, Saturday afternoon.
Posted — UpdatedCOATS, N.C. — The state Highway Patrol said that a car struck a bicyclist along N.C. Highway 27, west of Coats, Saturday afternoon.
Edwin Garrigo, 37, of Angier, was biking west on N.C. 27, at McLamb Road, around 3:30 p.m. when a westbound Chevrolet Cavalier struck his bike from behind, troopers said.
Garrigo was transported by ambulance to WakeMed in Raleigh, where he underwent surgery. An update on his condition was not available.
The Chevrolet driver, Megan Lee, 18, of Dunn, was expected to be charged, troopers said.
