You can always take advantage of the beautiful scenery by dining there or booking a spa appointment. The spa itself can be a day-long experience if you take advantage of the lounge, pools and steam rooms. Tips: Celebs in town often stay here so keep your eyes peeled in the lounge and bar.
Washington Duke Inn (Durham) - This tranquil retreat sits on 300 acres of tall pines and hardwoods on the edge of the Duke Forest. The original front of the building was modeled after George Washington's home at Mt. Vernon on the Potomac River. As with Washington Duke, you can dine, stay and golf! Fearrington House (Pittsboro) - This award-winning hotel features 32 guest rooms decorated with antiques, fresh flowers and original artwork.
