Johnston County sheriff's deputies this week arrested a Benson woman accused of using a 13-year-old girl to steal from a local Food Lion.

Luldes Yvette Patterson, 41, of Old Roberts Road, faces charges of larceny and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in connection with the Aug. 8 allegations.

Authorities say Patterson used the girl to steal $200 worth of groceries from the store on N.C. Highway 210.

Patterson was also arrested on a charge of failing to appear in court on an unrelated larceny charge from last year.

She was released on a $1,500 bond.
