A Benson man died late Wednesday in a single-car wreck near Newton Grove, authorities said.

NEWTON GROVE, N.C. — A Benson man died late Wednesday in a single-car wreck near Newton Grove, authorities said.
James Albert McAllister was westbound on Marler Road around 11 p.m. when his 1999 Honda Accord went off the right side of the road, authorities said. He over-corrected, and the Honda ran off the left side of the road, hit a mound of dirt in the front yard of a home and overturned, they said.
McAllister wasn't wearing a seat belt and was partially thrown out the back window of the car, authorities said.
