Parent after parent reached out to us, worried about the safety of their children. After hearing from so many of you, WRAL had to investigate the concerns involving where school bus stops are located.

Wake County schools eliminated thousands of stops this school year because of budget cuts. Did you know buses stop in the dark on roads with speed limits of 45 even 55 miles an hour, and kids cross the roads to get to the buses?

So how are the bus routes, stops and times decided? What does the school system do with your safety concerns? We were surprised by their response.
