LUMBERTON, N.C. — Two wildfires continue burning in northeast Robeson County, but most of the more than 150 fires that have plagued the county for the past month have been extinguished, authorities said.

Putting out the fires has cost more than $900,000 so far, authorities said.

Many fires were started by outdoor burning, but lightning also might have sparked some, authorities said.
