Autopsy: Slain Four Oaks man was shot twice

A Four Oaks man found inside a storage shed on his property was shot twice, according to autopsy results.

FOUR OAKS, N.C. — A Four Oaks man found inside a storage shed on his property was shot twice, according to autopsy results.

Firefighters found the bodies of L.C. Beasley, 66, and his wife, Sue Anne, when they responded to a fire at at 125 Hollow Oak Drive Jan. 11.The autopsy report says that L.C. Beasley was shot once in the head and once in the chest.

Relatives said Sue Anne Beasley was found tied up in a chair in the kitchen.

State troopers found the couple's pickup truck wrecked on Raleigh Road, close to their house, Wednesday night.

Barney Edward Gamble, 48, of King Mill Road, faces two counts of first-degree murder in the couple's deaths, along with charges of first-degree kidnapping, arson and larceny of a motor vehicle. He was being held in Central Prison without bond.
