Autopsy: Siler City man was beaten, shot in face
A Siler City man whose remains were found in a shallow grave in Chatham County last fall had been beaten and shot in the face three times, according to an autopsy report released Thursday.

Esau Abraham Brenes, 25, was reported missing on Oct. 4. His remains were found three weeks later, buried under a mattress near a wood line on Siler City Snow Camp Road.
According to the autopsy report, he was shot in the nose, left eye and right cheek. He also had 13 lacerations on the back of his head – some showed "underlying tool marks in the skull" – and wounds on his right hand.
Arnold Jaramillo Lopez, 16, of Siler City, is charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in the case.
A second suspect in Brenes' death, Francisco Rivas Galves-Huezo, 21, of Siler City, was found shot to death in Randolph County in early November.
