RALEIGH, N.C. — A 10-month-old girl who died in November died of "abusive head trauma," according to an autopsy report released Wednesday.

Cheyenne Emery Yarley died on Nov. 8, and her stepfather, Joshua Andrew Stepp, 26, of 1223 Silver Sage Drive, Apt. 303, was charged with first-degree murder the following day.

Stepp told a dispatcher in a 911 call that the child choked on toilet paper. The dispatcher tried to keep him calm during the six-minute call and walked him through mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and CPR until paramedics arrived.

The autopsy report indicates that paramedics and emergency room personnel at WakeMed found injuries to the child's right ear, face, vagina and anus.
