Autopsy: Group home worker beaten to death
A direct-care worker at the Dickens Drive Group Home was beaten to death, according to an autopsy report released Thursday.

A co-worker found Rebecca Ezeoha Thompkins, 44, face-down and covered with blood in a bathtub at the home for mentally disabled patients on March 27. Another counselor and six residents were present at that time.
An autopsy found that Thompkins had a fractured skull, a deep cut on the left side of her face and broken bones in her neck.
"Death is most likely due to blunt force injury to the head. It would be unusual to have sustained these injuries from an accidental fall," the autopsy report said.
Raleigh police searched the home at 113 Dickens Drive and a Volvo 940 and Chevrolet van belonging to Thompkins' boyfriend and obtained blood and other evidence from the co-worker, six residents and the boyfriend.
Police haven't commented on a possible motive or any suspects, but Raleigh Police Department spokesman Jim Sughrue said Thursday that the case remains under investigation.
