Authorities: Man Found By Railroad Was Murdered

A Wade man whose body was found Monday near a rail line was murdered, authorities said Wednesday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Wade man whose body was found Monday near a rail line was murdered, authorities said Wednesday.

A CSX worker found the body of Ronald Lynn Hunter, 41, of Gabe Smith Road, along the railroad tracks off Interstate 295 near Rich Walker Road, authorities said.

An autopsy determined that Hunter had been killed, authorities said, declining to release the cause of death.

Cumberland County Sheriff's Office detectives continue to investigate the case, but they declined to say whether they had any suspects or a motive for the slaying.
