<b>CHAPEL HILL, N.C.</b> — Chapel Hill police halted their search Thursday morning for an 89-year-old man who went missing from the area of Manly Drive and Tinkerbell Road.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons canceled its Silver Alert for Robert Charles Demmy at about 9 a.m., three hours after he was reported missing.

No other information about Demmy's disappearance has been released.
