Attempted theft, stabbing lands Raleigh man in jail for Christmas

A Raleigh man was arrested on Christmas Eve for threatening a security officer at Crabtree Valley Mall with a knife.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man was arrested on Christmas Eve for threatening a security officer at Crabtree Valley Mall with a knife.

Kwame Antonio Signal, 25, of 5708 Mial Plantation Road, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault on a government officials and attempting to break into a motor vehicle.

According to the warrant for his arrest, Signal was trying to get into a red 2012 Toyota RAV4 in the mall parking lot when a Crabtree officer challenged him. Signal tried to stab the officer in the face, according to a witness.

Signal was jailed through the Christmas weekend on $125,000 bond.
