Police say gunfire erupted early Monday morning in a Florida nightclub, leaving at least 17 injured and two dead.

FORT MYERS, FLA. — Police say gunfire erupted early Monday morning in a Florida nightclub, leaving at least 17 injured and two dead.

Around 12:30 a.m., Myers police responded to Club Blu at 3580 Evans Avenue. They found several victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot.

Police said at least 17 were wounded in the shooting, with their injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening.

A person of interest has been detained. The investigation is pending.
