RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police have made arrests in a string of violent armed robberies in northeast Raleigh.

Thomas Quantez Raheem Wilson, 18, was arrested on Monday. He is charged with eight counts of robbery, five counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

A second suspect, a 14-year-old boy, was being held under a secure custody order in connection with the same cases.

The arrests stem from five robberies between Sept. 5 and Sept. 18. In three of those cases, victims were struck by handguns during the crimes. In some of the cases, there was more than one victim.

Officers said they detained Wilson and the teen after finding them in a parking lot at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and New Hope Church Road around 10:30 p.m. Monday.
