Are you a GRILL MASTER?

Grilling season is here-- what should you cook, how should you cook it and what makes a great grill?

I just love the scent of food on the grill! Our family likes to grill year round-- but Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of grilling season!
According to a Consumer Reports survey of more than 1,000 adults-- more than half of Americans who grill-- do it more than once a week. How about you? And what do you most like to grill? Ribs are always a favorite for me-- but these days-- people grill everything from vegetables and fruit to even breakfast items! And how about PIZZA on the grill? That's a recent discovery for my family and we LOVE it! Try it!
Do you have any great grilling advice? Beyond cleaning your grill grates with just a brush(DON'T use soap!) both before and after cooking, Consumer Reports recommends we oil the grates right before cooking. They suggest making a tight pad from two folded paper towels, dip it in vegetable oil and then use tongs to drag it across the grates! Also, its important to fully preheat the grill to keep the food from sticking! Finally, as tempting as it is to constantly admire the products of your grilling skills-- keep the lid closed while you're cooking.

And if you're in the market for a new grill, tonight we'll have results of Consumer Reports tests on 46 grills. One costs $2,200! Can you imagine? The good news-- they found several for much, MUCH less that do such a great job-- they'll have your friends calling you GRILL MASTER! So get grillin'-- and waft that wonderful scent through your neighborhood to inspire others to fire up their grills! Although, you could just end up with a lot of unexpected dinner guests!!
