Apex man accused of helping driver get away after I-440 fatal hit-and-run
Police have charged an Apex man who they say gave a ride to a woman accused of killing a man in a hit-and-run wreck on Interstate 440 in Raleigh last month.

Leroy Linwood Kelley, 33, of 103 Knightsborough Way, was arrested Monday on a charge of felony aiding and abetting in connection with the death of Thomas John Anstey, 50, of Cary.
Investigators say Kiera Jo Sprouse, 23, was driving her car at an estimated 113 mph when she hit the rear of Anstey's motorcycle, pushing him more than 500 feet early on Jan. 19.
She then crashed her car and fled the scene, according to authorities.
Police have accused Kelley of picking up Sprouse and taking her home. Investigators found her there – about 10 miles from the crash site – about two hours after the wreck.
Court documents indicate she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.13 when police took her into custody.
Sprouse, who is in jail without bond, faces charges of second-degree murder, driving while impaired, felony hit-and-run causing death, driving without a license and aggravated felony death by motor vehicle.
Kelley, who made his first court appearance Tuesday, was at the Wake County Detention Center Wednesday under a $250,000 secured bond.
